Seton Shoal Creek Hospital Adult Chemical Dependancy Outpatient Programs

At Seton Shoal Creek Hospital we offer two intensive outpatient programs that are designed to provide the best recovery options for adults 18 years and older. Our programs provide a holistic approach to treatment — addressing the physical, emotional and mental issues associated with dependency.

Families are an integral part of the healing process. Both  programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals and their families. Participation by significant others is expected and included in the therapy. There is a free Family Night every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm for both programs.

We offer daytime or evening programs, so patients can choose a schedule that works with their lives. This 20-session program can be completed in five weeks with four sessions per week. Random urine drug screens are collected throughout the program and attendance at 12-step meetings is required.

Our program will:

  • Increase knowledge about the process of addiction
  • Help the patient begin regular 12-step attendance, identifying a home group and a sponsor
  • Develop a relapse prevention plan
  • Improve essential coping skills
  • Work to change dysfunctional or destructive behavior patterns
  • Help patients maintain abstinence and develop a sober support system
  • Provide inpatient detoxification when medically appropriate

Adult Dual Recovery Outpatient Group Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am to 12 pm

The Adult Dual Recovery Outpatient Program is designed for individuals who are diagnosed with both mental illness and chemical dependency. This program individually addresses each condition to provide optimum treatment and progress. It relies on a cognitive behavioral approach to managing a mental illness and helps develop the necessary tools to recover from alcohol or chemical dependency, including a 12-step program.

(Because of the dual nature of the patient’s disease, this program also includes the Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program objectives listed above.)

Our program will:

  • Increase knowledge about emotional illness and chemical dependency
  • Identify, challenge and modify distorted thoughts and beliefs
  • Improve ability for patient to problem-solve and cope with emotional crises
  • Build patient’s communication skills

Patients do not attend regular therapy on Wednesdays and are encouraged to invite families to the free Family Night every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Getting started is easy.

A physician’s referral is not necessary to begin treatment. Just schedule an appointment for a clinical evaluation with our outpatient assessment and referral department at 512.324.2039. During the assessment, costs will be provided and insurance benefits will be verified.
