At Seton Shoal Creek Hospital we offer two adult inpatient detoxification programs for patients 18 years and older. Medical stabilization is the primary goal of our Adult Chemical Dependency Detoxification Inpatient Program, while the Dual Recovery inpatient component is designed specifically for patients with a mental illness and a dependency. After stabilization, we offer a variety of outpatient treatment programs to help patients continue their healing.
Our team of experts, along with patients and their families, determine a treatment plan. The team includes an independent psychiatrist, a nurse and a licensed social worker — all dedicated to patient health. As the largest inpatient facility in the region, we are one of the only mental health facilities to have academic ties — resulting in a team committed to setting the standard for quality care.

Adult Dual Recovery Inpatient Program - Mental Health & Chemical Dependency Detoxification
The Adult Dual Recovery Inpatient Program is designed for adults who are diagnosed with both a mental illness and chemical dependency. This program addresses each condition separately using both a cognitive behavioral approach to mental illness as well as support to recover from chemical dependency. In addition to some of the program components listed under the Chemical Dependency
Detoxification Inpatient Program, the Dual Recovery inpatient component will:
- Increase knowledge about mental illness and chemical dependency
- Identify, challenge and help modify unhealthy thoughts and beliefs
- Teach problem solving and coping skills
- Work to change dysfunctional or destructive behavior patterns
Getting started is easy.
Each patient must have a “Level of Care Assessment” to determine eligibility for admission to the inpatient program. Although a physician’s referral is not necessary, physicians can make the admission process easier for patients by faxing forms and psychiatric evaluations. Contact Admissions at 512.324.2029 for orders and appropriate paperwork. For non-emergency care, insurance benefits will be verified and costs will be provided before treatment begins.
