The Shivers Center provides a variety of outpatient services for adult cancer patients from throughout Central Texas. It is centrally located in the professional building next to University Medical Center at Brackenridge.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy and supportive care such as transfusions and medications to reduce nausea are provided for a wide-range of cancer diagnoses. Treatment is coordinated by medical oncologist Slavisa Gasic, MD, a member of the Austin Medical Education Programs faculty. Staff is dedicated to providing friendly, personal care and includes nurses with advanced certification in oncology and chemotherapy.Shivers offers patients access to leading clinical research, thanks to SETON's affiliation with the Scott and White Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP).
Breast Clinic
Shivers Center's Breast Clinic provides advanced diagnostics for women with suspected breast disease and, if needed, surgery for breast cancer or other breast problems. Available testing includes needle and open biopsy to remove a tissue sample for analysis as well as a variety of imaging and lab studies.
