Internal Medicine Residency Program (PGY2)

The Seton Family of Hospitals, in conjunction with The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, offers this one-year PGY2 Residency in Adult Internal Medicine. The residency is based at University Medical Center Brackenridge. This program is designed to further develop the resident’s skills in internal medicine with emphasis on cardiology and infectious diseases.

Interdisciplinary Approach to Pharmaceutical Care

Our clinical pharmacists, along with pharmacy students, attend rounds with physicians and medical residents on critical care, pediatric and medical floors. Using a decentralized model, pharmacists are in constant contact with the medical and nursing staff, which provides numerous opportunities to provide complete pharmaceutical care to each patient.

Seton has a well-established clinical program which plays an important role in formulary management and the development of network-wide clinical initiatives. The Anticoagulation Clinic at UMC Brackenridge, an outpatient, pharmacist-run clinic, provides comprehensive anticoagulation services.
