For only four hours a week, you can share the gift of time and touch many lives at University Medical Center Brackenridge. As the medical safety net for the community, UMC Brackenridge has been an essential medical resource to the people of Austin and surrounding Central Texas counties for almost 125 years. As the only certified Level II Trauma Center in Central Texas, UMC Brackenridge serves 11 counties in the region. The campus has always been a center for new innovations, cutting-edge technology, training and education and is taking health care to the next level. UMC Brackenridge is THE place to volunteer.
Since 1952, the volunteers at UMC Brackenridge have had a strong and committed presence at the hospital, providing support and service to patients, their families and staff. Our volunteer program is a dedicated group of more than 300 students and adults whose interests and skills are as diverse as the cultures they represent, yet they share a common bond - a genuine love of volunteering and a sincere desire to serve. They are representatives and ambassadors of the hospital and Seton, carrying out our mission of caring for the sick and poor. Our volunteers take pride in being part of this group and consider UMC Brackenridge a very unique and special place.
UMC Brackenridge Volunteer Services offers both clinical and non-clinical positions in more than 25 areas throughout the hospital from the Emergency Department to our Great Habits Gift Shop. If you are interested in giving back to your community and you have the time and desire to do so, we want you to be part of our volunteer program. Although we have certain requirements to insure that we are able to serve to the best of our ability, we are flexible to fit your needs as well. We believe that you will be personally rewarded by the experience that you will have at UMC Brackenridge and we invite you to join us.
If you are a student attending a University and you are studying at the undergraduate level, you are required to volunteer with our College Student Volunteer Program.
